DOCENT TRAINING after Church on Feb. 2

Following church, the Docent ministry will be hosting our fellowship. If you stay, it does not mean you are interested in joining this ministry, so please do not stray from your usual routine! The Docent meeting/training will take place in a designated area. This will also mark our first training session, so all current, former, and future docents, anyone who is interested in the history of our beloved chapel please consider attending the training session which is scheduled to begin around 10:30. Special guests will be Tom Vintanza and Rebecca Stevens, architectural historians now retired from the National Park Service. The program will be casual and conversational, as we provide a tour and our guests share insights, architectural descriptions, and other expertise. Even if you are not sure about becoming a docent, join us! The Furnace around which our community grew shares a 250th anniversary with the nation in 2026. The Docent Ministry is one way Harriet Chapel shares our part of the story, including parish life in the village today. +++Please check out the last page for more information on our Docent program. Thank you.

The Flower Signup Sheet is posted in the hallway next to the parish hall.  The church uses Gateway Floral in Thurmont. The cost of the flowers is $65.00 and includes vase and delivery.  When signing up, you have the option to provide your own flowers or have the church order them for you.  If you wish the church to order your flowers, simply place your money or check in an envelope. Checks should be made out to Harriet Chapel with a notation of "flowers" in the memo section.  As an alternative, you may also use flowers from your own garden or even a nice potted plant.  No artificial flowers are allowed on the altar or flowers that have been dyed because if these should accidentally get spilled, the dye may damage the carpet.

Loose Change Offerings on the first Sunday of each month: All loose change in the offerings will go into the Rector's Discretionary Fund to be used for emergencies.  On every 5th Sunday in a month, all loose change will be used for our Outreach Ministry.

Coffee Hour Sign-up sheets are available on the hallway next to the parish hall.

Inclement Weather Policy: Fr. Doug and Pastor Sally will always try to get to church for services unless the roads are unsafe.  Please use your own discretion about whether the roads near your home are safe for travel.  If we know in advance that church will not be held, an email will be sent letting everyone know.  Please call anyone you know who may not have access to a computer to let them know our status.  Please make sure that the church office has your correct email address!
